Hibernian Community Foundation: Delivering Fundamental Technology

Hibernian Football Club is an integral and active part of the community in north and east Edinburgh, born 150 years ago from a Society dedicated to raising funds to support locals.
The Community Foundation attempts to carry forward this spirit, taking football to those who may otherwise be excluded, and offering practical help to community members, whether it be providing hot meals, a warm welcoming space or even a supportive social network.

Dunedin IT’s Technology Partnership with Hibernian FC

When we began our business partnership with the club in 2022, we were keen to assist with the Community Foundation and the obvious starting place was in technology. Providing online access and learning opportunities was a key component of what the Foundation wanted to offer and it was important that the infrastructure required to do this was modern and reliable.

With the support of one of our valued clients, Woolgar Hunter, we were able to provide computer equipment that now allows visitors to access learning, research job opportunities, and administer online services for their banking and utilities, amongst other things.

“In the current financial and political climate, the demand on the services offered by the Foundation has been steadily increasing. Whether it be the result of poverty, mental health, displacement or just social isolation, many people find comfort and support in the great many services provided. In November last year the equipment was used to deliver our Prince’s Trust programme for example, bringing hugely valuable support to young people in our community.”
