One of our most exciting and rewarding projects has been our collaboration with Forth Boat Tours. Operating from South Queensferry, Forth Boat Tours runs cruises exploring the Firth of Forth, offering unique experiences to visitors while navigating the challenges of an unpredictable environment. Our task was to design and implement an innovative, resilient, and cost-effective IT infrastructure to enhance their operations, improve customer experience, and ensure safety on board.

 

With extensive experience in the sector, built on projects with some our other customers like Scottish Wildlife Trust, Bamburgh Castle and Perth Race Course, we were well placed to meet the needs of their organisation with suitable technology.

The Challenge

Forth Boat Tours operates a fleet of three vessels, each accommodating over 200 passengers. Their services include scheduled sightseeing cruises, private hire events, and group bookings, making technology a vital aspect of their business.

 

Geography and landscape played a role with a combination of requirements on land and at sea meaning we had to ensure that systems worked consistently, irrespective of location.

Live-streaming CCTV cameras were installed onboard, providing real-time monitoring that enhanced passenger safety and allowed swift response to potential security concerns.
